When it comes to food, you may find yourself sticking to the same boring chains you've had over and over. And why wouldn't you? Your down time shouldn't be spent researching places to eat but enjoying yourself. So save yourself the monotony; Stay with CHC has created a list of our favorite places to eat in Reno, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Peg’s Glorified Ham n' Eggs

The best and most filling breakfast in town. Peg’s Glorified Ham n’ Eggs has been voted best breakfast in Reno 12 years in a row! This petite but popular restaurant has grown from a small chain to over 4 locations throughout Northern Nevada, as well as one in California!

On the menu you will find a plethora of egg dishes, including 8 different kinds of egg benedicts. Peg's most iconic dish is the huevos rancheros, served on a full-sized skillet. But you better be hungry, because this dish includes hash browns, slaw, pinto beans, warm tortillas, a slice of cantaloupe, and their delicious huevos ranchero.

If you are planning on going, prepare for a bustling environment. Waiters with food piled high will be maneuvering between packed tables and hungry customers waiting to be seated. Speaking of waiting customers, arrive at Peg’s earlier so you can get your name on the wait list, becuase there'll most certainly be a wait.

Süp

Living in Reno is not complete without an occasional visit to a local sandwich and soup shop. For Reno, that place is Süp. This quaint sandwich shop located in Midtown serves several kinds of soups and sandwiches each day. Each sandwich and soup is made from scratch from the freshest locally-sourced ingredients.

For a guaranteed winner choose the pesto turkey. But if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous choose The Pita. It includes chicken, celery, spinach, toasted almonds inside a warm pita.

Every day is a new set of 6 homemade soups, so be sure to check what they are serving before you head down. Treat yourself to a nostalgic meal during your  with the tomato bisque. This creamy classic pairs great with a warm grilled cheese or a tuna melt. For an even heartier soup, try the broccoli cheddar or the loaded baked potato, these soups will fill you up just by themselves!

Laughing Planet Café

Laughing Planet Café is easily one of the places to eat in Reno with the most personality. The quick-service restaurant is adorned with plastic toy dinosaurs on each table that fit perfectly with the lime green and turquoise color scheme.

The personality doesn’t end at the aesthetics. Each burrito and bowl that Laughing Planet serves is full of unique and fresh ingredients that create a one-of-a-kind experience.

For example, the Bollywood Bowl is a delicious combination of grilled chicken, curry-roasted chickpeas, spinach, yams, and roasted cauliflower all over brown rice, topped with spicy coconut sauce. You can’t get a meal like that anywhere else.

Along with a plethora of soups, salads, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls, Laughing Planet has a large selection of energizing smoothies. Each smoothie is packed full of fruits and veggies, grab one to kickstart your day or as a sweet treat after a long week.

Sakana Sushi

Sushi is no stranger to Reno. With over twenty sushi restaurants, there are plenty of options to choose from, and plenty of discussion about which of the sushi places to eat in Reno is truly the best. However, one establishment stands out above the rest, Sakana Sushi.

Unassuming on the outside, Sakana Sushi is a much more intimate space than other larger, busier restaurants such as Ijji’s and Oceano. The smaller space provides customers with faster service and higher-quality food.

Sakana’s menu is robust and full of plenty of options for both casuals and sushi lovers alike. Try the Ocean Delivered for a beautiful multicolored California roll topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, shrimp, and seaweed salad. It tastes as good as it looks.

For a roll with a kick, the Sharkbait contains spicy tuna, shredded crab, and avocado, deep-fried for crunch and topped with ponzu and savory unagi sauce.

For any hungry day the all-you-can-eat is the best option. Not only does it include unlimited orders of any roll, but you’ll also have access to their numerous appetizers such as potstickers, tempura, and calamari. If that’s not enough, after a delicious and filling meal your server will offer you a choice of several flavors of homemade ice cream!
