Moving to a new city can be pretty tough, and when you’re bringing your family too, the change can be overwhelming. Family corporate stay doesn’t have to be a hassle when you’re staying in a great city. Here’s why relocating to Reno is perfect for you and your family.
Relocating to a new school is a big shake-up for the whole family. As parents, we want our children to continue to receive a quality education, no matter where they live. And our kids (although they might not say it directly) want to have a great school experience. Luckily, with Reno, you don’t have to worry.
A study in 2016 by US News & World Report ranked 28,000 public high schools across the U.S. Fifteen Nevadan schools made the top 10%. Furthermore, two Reno public high schools took the first and second spots as the best schools in all of Nevada. There are plenty of public school options for children of all ages.
Every kid is a little bundle of energy. As parents, we know the value of being able to let our kids run around outside. Not only is it great exercise, but it also gives us time to ourselves (let’s be honest, we all wouldn’t mind that, right?).
If you’re from California, you might be excited to live in an area with snowy winters. Reno can get quite snowy in the winter. Luckily, the snow never gets too severe to manage. If you want more snow, Tahoe is right in your backyard. In Tahoe, when the winter season kicks in, so does ski season. Take your family up to Tahoe for a day of skiing at popular ski resorts such as Squaw Valley or Heavenly. If skiing and snowboarding aren't your speed, you can just find a nice hill for some family sledding.
The Reno area averages around 300 days of sunshine! That’s pretty incredible, right? You can take your kids outside all year-round for some great outdoor time. Furthermore, you’ll come to enjoy staying inside with your family on those handful of cloudy days.
The biggest perk of temporary housing in Reno is that you have one of the best vacation spots in the whole western U.S. right in your backyard. Lake Tahoe is home to a full spectrum of activities to spend with your family on your off-days. You and your family can enjoy the crystal blue lake, golden beaches, and panoramic mountain views in any way you’d like, whether it be hiking, swimming, boating, or exploring!
There are also plenty of other hidden lakes and hiking trails throughout Tahoe to find. You and your family will have an endless amount of discoveries to make.
Reno is full of an incredible amount of events and festivals. And while a large amount of Reno events are geared towards adults (you didn’t know you wanted a pirate-themed beer crawl till now, did you?), there are plenty of family-friendly events as well.
The Reno Rodeo, Best in the West Rib Cook-Off, and the Reno Balloon Race are merely a few examples of the vast range of family events Reno hosts every month. My little Nora's favorite event is the Reno Balloon Race, and you bet she asks about every month when it's happening.
